As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities, our customers, and our employees and as the world grapples with the unprecedented challenge this brings, our thoughts are with the people around the globe who are affected.
We will be operating as a skeleton crew, meaning we are operating with the minimum number of personnel needed to operate and maintain the business at its most simple operating requirements. Skeleton crews are often utilized during an emergency and are meant to keep business' vital functions operating. All of our staff that are able to work from home are now doing so for their own safety as well as others.
The well-being and safety of our customers and our employees are our top priorities and will always be at the heart of every decision we make. As a result, we have drastically reduced our on-site staff and we continue to serve you online. Please bare with us as we work through these new circumstances as processing and shipping your orders may be delayed. The on-site staff shortage means we can't work as quickly and effectively as we typically do. Due to some of our staff working remotely, they do not have the same in-depth resources and high tech equipment that they do on-site. The communication between the other staff office members and the warehouse personnel is not as smooth as it is when we're in one building so getting answers to certain inquiries may be delayed. As our sales and customer service team is helping us through this from the safety of their own home, we continue to be busy and we ask that if you need to contact us for any reason, please consider emailing us instead of calling.
PROCESSING / SHIPPING DELAYS
As we are working to serve you as quickly and efficiently as possible, the processing of your orders may take slightly longer than usual. At this time, many suppliers, manufacturers, and shipping carriers have delays in response times and transit times. Our manufacturers have many backorders at the moment which may result in our shipments not coming in as planned. This may also result in your order being processed at our other facility or being directly drop-shipped from the manufacturer if possible which may delay your shipping time.
We have taken precautions within our facility that include increased frequency of regularly scheduled cleanings and sanitation efforts in our warehouses. To support our employees, we have put in place additional measures to ensure their work environment is clean and disinfected and that they are working at a safe social distance. We are making sure our staff is taking appropriate measures to keep themselves and your packages contaminate free.
We have been following the best practices according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Cdc.gov). Here are the best practices to protect yourself as well as to minimize the spread of the virus:
Clean your hands often! Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with others.
Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community.
Take steps to protect others:
- Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
- Throw used tissues in the trash.
- Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- If you are sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people.
- If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick.
- Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
